Ben Roeder
Secondary Education Director
Ben began his teaching career in Royal Oak in 2001 as a high school social studies teacher.
Ben graduated from the University of Michigan in 1997, and has earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from Wayne State University.
Over the course of his career he has supported students in a variety of ways including sponsoring student clubs, acting as a School Improvement chair, serving as the Secondary Data Coordinator, and advocating for improving models for the delivery of professional development. In 2006, Ben was named a finalist for the Michigan Teacher of the Year award.
As the Supervisor of Secondary Education, he enjoys collaborating with teachers, principals, and community members to provide students with a rigorous and inclusive curriculum.
