Curriculum and Instruction

The goal of the curriculum department is to be committed to fostering an impactful learning community where students will be embraced, accepted, challenged, and prepared.

We believe that students learn best when engaged in authentic learning experiences. And, that students benefit from timely and meaningful feedback. Lastly, that students will demonstrate readiness for what is next in their learning continuum.

COMMON CORE

Royal Oak Schools has developed a core curriculum based on the Common Core Standards.

These K-12, Common Core Standards were designed by a state-led committee targeting better preparation for college and success in the global economy for all students. In addition, the district's International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and IB Diploma Programme have been designed to meet those specific standards.

Royal Oak School students will be well-prepared as lifelong learners for high school, college, and beyond.
