MI Heart Safe

In a significant achievement that aligns seamlessly with our district's commitment to excellence, Oak Ridge and Oakland Elementary have been honored with the MI HEARTSafe School designation by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and other esteemed organizations. This recognition, spanning the academic years 2022-2025, underscores Oak Ridge and Oakland Elementary's dedication to ensuring their students' and staff's safety and well-being.

By surpassing rigorous application standards, Oak Ridge and Oakland worked together to demonstrate their readiness for cardiac emergencies. Each school is equipped and prepared to implement the Chain of Survival—a critical set of actions designed to maximize the chances of survival during cardiac events.

Each elementary will receive certificates and a heart sticker to prominently display the MI HEARTSafe School designation for 2022-2025 as a symbol of this achievement. A banner celebrating this accomplishment will be proudly displayed, serving as a testament to each school's dedication to safety and preparedness.

An award ceremony, open to in-person and virtual attendance, is scheduled for November 14 at 10 am at the Michigan High School Athletic Association.
