Taking place during school, the during this assembly, representatives from McCourt's Music Group and members of the Royal Oak Music Department staff will introduce the 5th grade students to the various musical instruments offered in our Middle School beginning band and orchestra classes. After learning about each instrument, students will then have an opportunity to play each of them!
Taking place during school, this assembly allows all students (DK-5) at each elementary school to have the opportunity to see both vocal and instrumental selections performed by small student groups from Royal Oak High School.
Held after school at Royal Oak High School, any student who is interested in and/or planning on participating in the Beginning Band and Orchestra classes will work individually with a Music Department staff member or McCourt's Music Group Clinician to explore the available instrument choices for Middle School Band and Orchestra. By the end of their one-on-one session, each student will be matched to the instrument they are most interested in and/or best suited to play!
Taking place during the second week of school, a set of professional music clinicians will work alongside our Royal Oak Music Department staff to provide the students in our beginning music classes at ROMS with specific sectional-based instruction on their instruments.
