Phases of the Jump Start Music Program

Instrument Petting Zoo:

Taking place during school, the during this assembly representatives from McCourt's Music Group and members of the Royal Oak Music Department staff introduce the 5th grade students to the various musical instruments offered in our beginning band and orchestra classes. After learning about each instrument, students will then have an opportunity to play each of them.

Instrument Fittings:

Held after school at Royal Oak High School, any student planning on participating in the Beginning Band and Orchestra classes in 6th grade is invited to work with a Royal Oak Music Department staff member to explore all the available Beginning Band and Orchestra instruments. By the end of the instrument fitting process, each student is matched to the instrument they are most interested in and/or best suited to play.

High School Performing Arts Assembly

Clinician's Week
