Sarah Bockhausen

Family
My name is Sarah Bockhausen and this is my eighth year teaching in Royal Oak Schools. I have been teaching for years, overseas and in Michigan. I really enjoy traveling and teaching internationally and have taught in South Africa, England and Czech Republic. I enjoy learning about different people, cultures and ways of life.

I graduated from Michigan State University in 2006 with a BA in Elementary Education with a concentration in social studies. I completed my masters from MSU in 2010 my Masters in Teaching and Curriculum with a focus on Psychological Development and Behavior Management.

I love teaching and social studies! I believe we can learn from our past successes and mistakes and history gives us the clues to help to determine our future.

"Once children learn how to learn, nothing is going to narrow their mind. The essence of teaching is to make learning contagious, to have one idea spark another." Marva Collins

I am married to my husband Evan and have a baby boy named Oliver. When not in school I like to spend time with my family, cooking, exploring new places and watching movies (especially historical documentaries!)
