Royal Oak Schools uses ParentSquare as our primary platform for school communication. Families receive messages through email, app, voice, or text, helping everyone stay informed and involved.
An account is automatically created for each parent or guardian using the contact information in MiStar. We encourage you to activate your account to download the free mobile app, set your language preferences, and choose how and when you’d like to receive messages.

How to update preferences
Here is a helpful video that explains ParentSquare, its features, and how to customize your account so you get notifications when you want them.
ParentSquare allows you to enable “Digest” notifications on post updates so that you receive all but emergency updates in one evening summary instead. To enable this:
- Navigate to Account via the mobile app or online.
- Select Notifications.
- From this menu, you can toggle email and text notifications from Instant to Digest.
Here is a video tutorial for updating notifications.
Text/Phone Notifications
Text alerts from the system will be identified with the following shortcodes: [ROSchools], [ECC], [Addams], [Keller], [Northwood], [Oak Ridge], [Oakland], [Upton], [RAVENS], [ROMS], [ROHS].

Classroom & Group Posts: One number for all classes and groups per school.
School-wide Posts: One number per school.
Alerts, Digests, District-wide Posts and District Group Messages: Will come from 36794
