Almas Support Person

Royal Oak Schools is proud to announce that Angela Almas has been named the 2025 Support Person of the Year by the Oakland County Community and Adult Educators (OCCAE). Pronounced “O-K,” OCCAE recognizes exceptional staff members who serve adult and community education programs across the county.

Angela’s nomination came from three members of the Royal Oak Continuing Education team at Churchill Community Education Center, who praised her dedication, initiative, and strong problem-solving skills. In addition to her vital role supporting adult education, Angela works full-time at Royal Oak Middle School, where she continues to make a difference each day for both staff and students.

Her colleagues shared glowing remarks in their nomination, including:

“Angela goes above and beyond to help the staff and students. She is an expert problem solver. She will come up with outside-the-box solutions when both staff and students need them. If she doesn't have an immediate answer for a question, she will get it. It is always nice to know there is someone you can count on in the office.”

Angela now joins the ranks of past Royal Oak OCCAE award winners Mike Trice and Joy Zug, further demonstrating the district’s continued excellence in supporting adult learners.

Congratulations, Angela, on this well-deserved honor!
