Registration for The Upcoming School Year

If you have not completed the registration process yet, please click on the link for directions for registering your child using Parent Portal. If you do not remember your PIN and/or Password, you can contact Mrs. Catchpole, our secretary, and she can provide this information to you.

Annual Registration Instructions

Dates for the Start of School

August 24: Kindergarten Welcome- 8:30-9:30 a.m., 9:30-10:30 a.m., and 10:30-11:30 a.m. You need to sign up for a time slot prior to the event.

August 27: Teacher assignments will be made available on Parent Portal

September 2: Kindergarten & Developmental Kindergarten Open House/Meet the Teacher- 4:00-5:00 p.m. This event will also include a "playdate" sponsored by our PTA from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on our playground.

September 7: First Day for students 8:25 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

September 10: PTA Welcome Back Picnic 5:30-7:00 p.m.

I know many of you are wondering when you will be able to find out who your child's teacher will be. This will be made available to you on the Parent Portal on August 27.

Mask Policy

Masks will be required to be worn by all staff, students, and visitors while inside the school building. This is a recommendation that has been made by the Oakland County Health Division. By having all people wear masks and keeping at least a 3-feet distance from one another, this will help to prevent having whole classes from having to quarantine.

Quarantine Guideline:

In a K-12 indoor classroom setting where all students are wearing masks and additional prevention strategies are in place, students who are 3-feet or greater from a student who tested positive will be exempt from quarantine.

Blessings in a Backpack

In light of the tough economic times facing our area, we are attempting to help Royal Oak Schools families by making sure that all of our children have enough food. “Blessings in a Backpack” is a program designed to provide students with free and reduced lunch with enough food for three meals a day during the weekends. This program, sponsored by the North Woodward Community Foundation and the Meijer Corporation has begun in Royal Oak Schools.

If you agree to take part in this program, during the school year, your child will receive a bag every Friday, filled with food for the weekend. The simple meals may include food like macaroni and cheese, beef ravioli, fruit granola bars, peanut butter, soups, juice, and other items.

If you would like to have your child participate in this program, click on the link, fill out the form, and return it to your child’s school AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Address Changed?

If you have a change of address, please inform the office. You need to update your address with 2 proofs of your new address at the Board Office.
