Michigan High School Football is back and so is the Detroit Lions Michigan High School Football Game of the Week powered by Hudl!

Royal Oak High School vs. Farmington was nominated as one of the five games representing Division 2 in week 2! If we are selected as the Game of the Week, a grant will be provided for our school's football program/Athletic Department. The game is set for 7 PM on September 1.

Voting begins at 12 noon on August 29 for the Game of the Week at www.DetroitLions.com/HighSchool - and ends on August 31 at noon!

"For the 2nd straight year and in a continuous effort to protect, promote and grow the game, we are showcasing select Michigan High School Football teams during our Detroit Lions Michigan High School Football Game of the Week powered by Hudl! This "highlight reel" segment will be showcased on www.DetroitLions.com in addition to being shared on all Detroit Lions Football Education social media channels," said Detroit Lions spokesperson in a press release.

The Michigan High School Football Coaches Association (MHSFCA) and Detroit Lions Football Education nominated the five match ups. It's up to us and the Royal Oak community to help spread the word.

  • Voting begins at 12 noon on Monday, August 29 for the Game of the Week at www.DetroitLions.com/HighSchool.
  • Voting ends on Wednesday, August 31 at 12 noon for the Game of the Week.
  • Wednesday afternoon --The Head Coaches and Athletic Directors of the game with the most votes will be notified as the Game of the Week for Division 2!
  • Thursday, September 1 - GAME DAY!

Each Game of the Week school will receive a $275 grant to use for future Hudl subscriptions and services upon a timely receipt of the items mentioned above. If there is one play from their game that is deemed worthy, Lions Football Education will nominate it for the NFL's Way to Play program which recognizes the excellence demonstrated by high school players who exemplify proper playing technique to make impactful plays in partnership with Hudl. This segment is featured nationally on Saturdays in a Good Morning Football segment. The school of the chosen play will receive either a $3,000 equipment grant through USA Football or the MVP Robotics' Mobile Virtual Player.
