ECC Early Intervention
Through the Department of Special Education, the Royal Oak Schools provides Early Childhood Special Education Services for eligible children under the age of three, who are Royal Oak residents.
ECSE Services are for children who are not developing at the expected rate in the following developmental domains: speech and language, motor development, social-emotional skills, and/or those who have identified medical conditions. Early Intervention staff provide services in a natural environment, such as the home, for children and their parents/caregiver.
We believe in the importance of the parent as their child's first teacher. Our goal is to provide support and educational opportunities to families to help them become better prepared to meet the challenges of raising and educating their children, and to give them information addressing their child's special needs. We have a strong parent component, including the classroom participation and a parent group. Our goal is to empower parents to become their child's teacher and advocate.
