Royal Oak Schools
Dear Royal Oak Schools Families,
At a workshop meeting of the Board of Education on July 29, the Royal Oak Schools team presented their recommendations for our return to school which I shared last week. However, we do not believe this is the best plan for September 2020. For more information click here.
Parents with questions regarding the Return To School plan should use a form to submit questions to the Board and Administration of Royal Oak Schools.
"The closure of school buildings last spring was an abrupt change for all of us. In preparation for this fall, we have obtained feedback from parents via surveys which assisted staff members to create a more robust and supportive learning environment for the 2020-21 school year."
You can help put individual supplies in the hands of kindergartners.
"Right now, nearly 200 staff members have been using feedback from our parent surveys and aligning our decisions and plans with the Return to School Roadmap that we were provided by the State of Michigan."
"This is an evolving situation and we are closely monitoring the direction from Governor Whitmer’s office and the Michigan Department of Education. "
The Royal Oak Cultural Competence Engagement Committee, a group of district parents, staff, community members, board members, and administrators, have gathered to discuss and suggest ways to improve the district’s cultural competence work as we examine areas of equity, inclusion, diversity and social justice and we are looking for new members!
