As a child of a teacher, I knew teaching was always my calling.
After graduating from Michigan State University with a bachelors of science in elementary education, my first teaching job was with Royal Oak Schools. I spent my first eight years teaching fourth and fifth grade at Oakland Elementary. Oakland Elementary will always have a special place in my heart as this was the place that has shaped me as an educator and provided me with such a nurturing place to grow. I finished a Masters in Educational Administration from MSU and then pursued the next step in my career.
I left the classroom to become the Response to Intervention Coordinator at Addams Elementary. The staff, students, and parents at Addams Elementary helped me develop my leadership skills, my love for supporting students academically, socially and behaviorally, and my yearning to serve a larger community of learners. After four years of serving the Addams Elementary community I moved into my current position.
I have served as the Supervisor of Elementary Education for Royal Oak Schools for the past 7 years. I provide support to six elementary buildings in the areas of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and technology. I am passionate about providing the best instruction for ALL students and enhancing instructional practices for teachers.
I currently reside in Clarkston with my husband and two children.
Royal Oak Schools has always been my home away from home. I couldn't be prouder of the work our district has completed in the past several years... Royal Oak is a great place to learn!
