ROMS 100 Ghost Tour - October 30, 2026
Step into the past and explore the Royal Oak Middle School building after dark during the ROMS 100 Ghost Tour, presented by Into the Afterlife Paranormal.
On Friday, October 30, from 7:30–10:30 p.m., guests will visit some of the building’s most historic spaces, including the Learning Commons, Auditorium and Gathering Place, with guidance from the Afterlife Paranormal team.
Tickets are $30 per person, and space is limited to just 30 participants. Be sure to sign up ahead of time to reserve your spot. Payment will be collected when you arrive, and cash is preferred.
Before attending, please complete both required steps:
- Fill out the Google registration form.
- Sign the required waiver using the e-signature function.
With limited capacity, spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

100 Years at 709 N. Washington — November 13, 2026
Step back in time and learn more about the history of Royal Oak Middle School during “100 Years at 709 N. Washington,” presented by members of the ROMS 100 Committee as part of the Royal Oak Historical Society’s monthly speakers program.
On Friday, November 13, at 7 p.m., join us at the Royal Oak Historical Museum, 1411 W. Webster, located inside Royal Oak’s historic 1927 firehouse.
The ROMS 100 Committee will share the story of the school’s 100-year history at 709 N. Washington, highlighting the people, memories and milestones that have shaped the building and the Royal Oak community.

From January through May, free community tours will take place on the third Saturday of each month, giving guests the opportunity to explore the building and see firsthand the historic spaces that have been part of Royal Oak’s story for generations.

The Murals of Royal Oak — February 19, 2027
Discover the stories behind some of Royal Oak’s most memorable artwork during “The Murals of Royal Oak.”
Join us on Friday, February 19, for a screening of the Michigan History Award-winning video, followed by a Q&A in the historic Dondero Auditorium at Royal Oak Middle School.
Come learn more about the murals that have helped tell Royal Oak’s story and the history behind their creation.

ROMS 100 Community Celebration — September 18, 2027
Join us as we celebrate 100 years of Royal Oak High School, Dondero and Royal Oak Middle School during a special community-wide celebration!
On Saturday, September 18, 2027, the community is invited to come together during the day to celebrate the history, memories and legacy of these iconic Royal Oak schools.
Later that evening, an offsite gala will give alumni, former students, staff, families and community members the opportunity to mingle, reminisce and celebrate 100 years of Royal Oak school history.
