Royal Oak Schools Restorative Practices Coach
Nicole Reynolds is the Restorative Practices Coach for the Royal Oak School District. She works at the middle school and assists the elementary schools. Her goal as the Restorative Practices Coach is to reduce the amount of suspensions and help create a positive school culture by creating connections and repairing harm. She has her TOT (Trainer of Trainers) license through the IIRP (International Institute for Restorative Practices). She has facilitated two day training with staff members in the district and also created a way to train staff members virtually.
She is a certified teacher and has taught grades K-8 in Detroit and Pontiac. She has been on the PBIS committee and SIT committee at all the schools where she taught. She was a character education coordinator for 3 years (a liaison between the teachers and the head director of the program) in Detroit, and was a part of the building and district turn around teams in Pontiac where we implemented a variety of programs such as CHAMPS and Capturing Kids Hearts.
She lives in Royal Oak with her husband, son and daughter. She graduated from Rochester High School and Oakland University with a Bachelors of Science: Elementary Education degree. She is pursuing her Masters through Oakland University in Early Childhood Education with a ZS endorsement.
She's a Michigan fan (GO Blue!) and loves to watch the Lions, win or lose. She loves exercising with her family, watching movies, reading and knitting, and everything Wonder Woman.
