BEGINNING KNITTING -
New knitters will be introduced to knitting basics.  Students will learn three methods to cast on stitches, bind off stitches, sew a seam, as well as increasing and decreasing, and many other stitches.  Instruction prepares new knitter to read yarn labels, read a pattern, understand a yarn gauge, and make beginner level projects. There is a material fee of $40.00 which includes knitting bag, needles, yarn to make swatches, tape measure and tapestry needle, and is payable to the instructor.  Students receive a 10% discount on supplies for the duration of the semester.

KNITTING GOLF/SHORT CUFF SOCKS

Learn how to knit a pair of fine weight socks on one circular needle using the Magic Loop method from a material kit that includes self striping or solid colored yarn, pattern and a circular needle.  The sock will be knit with a short cuff suitable for golfing or sneaker wear.  The anatomy of sock knitting, sock stitches and the magic loop method will be taught in the first class to ensure success and ease.   PRE-REQUISITE:  Casting on, knit stitch, purl stitch and binding off.  There is a $35.00 materials fee payable the instructor.
