Royal Oak Welcomes

37 New Teachers, 3 New Administrators
This summer has been an extraordinary period of activity in the Royal Oak Neighborhood School District as a result of the major changes produced by the state's retirement incentive program.

"To say that the past few months have been one of significant change is to fall short of the true description," says Superintendent Thomas Moline. When school starts in September there will be 37 new instructors and three new school administrators. Radical budget reduction was quickly followed by new employment in professional certified positions in just a few short months. "Such change has never been experienced in our school district and we will probably not see such a large group of new instructors coming to Royal Oak in a single school year for many years to come," said Dr. Moline.

Moline feels great optimism for the District in 2010-2011 as the experience and wisdom of a veteran staff joins with a cadre of new and highly enthusiastic professionals. "The combination may very well produce one of the most dynamic and successful school years in the history of the School District of the City of Royal Oak," he said.
