Our mission is to challenge our students to become productive, life-long learners in a diverse, technological, ever-changing world.
Royal Oak High School is one of the best public high schools in the State of Michigan according to the ‘2018 Best High School’ ranking by U.S. News and World Report. Of the 835 public high schools in Michigan, ROHS was one of only 95 schools awarded a silver medal. Seven schools received gold medals and 52 received bronze medals.
On June 5th, a big C-SPAN bus was parked in front of Royal Oak High School. Instead of filming regular U.S. government proceedings, or interviewing politicians, the cable channel crew was there to recognize newly-graduated Zoe Kernohan for her documentary, "Keep it Separate."
Dakota Kelly, a 5th grader at Northwood, was recently featured at the Grand Rapids Art Museum for the 2018 Michigan Art Education Association Statewide Middle and Elementary Art Show.
Acorn, Royal Oak High School’s quarterly, student-lead magazine, was recently presented with the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association’s highest rating, the Spartan Award, for the first time in nine years. The rating was awarded based the publication’s news and sports coverage; writing and editing; design; photography and graphics; and editorial content.
