While the selection of a superintendent of schools is the responsibility of the elected School Board, the Board believes it is critical to have feedback from all constituents in the search for the next superintendent. The Royal Oak Schools Board of Education has started the process of selecting a new superintendent to replace Shawn Lewis-Lakin, who announced his retirement effective June 30, 2017.
