Starting the 2014-2015 School Year

The following change in elementary attendance areas was approved by the Board of Education on Saturday, December 1, during their planning meeting workshop:

Effective with all new enrollments for the 2014-2015 school year, the following adjustments are made to elementary school attendance areas: 

  •  Those parts of the current Oak Ridge attendance area that are west of Main Street are shifted to the Addams attendance area.
  • Those parts of the current Upton attendance area that are east of Crooks are shifted to the Addams attendance area (this is a negligible number of homes as most of this area is ROHS or City Park property). 

Any families who live in the area impacted by this shift who have children attending Oak Ridge as of December 1, 2013, will be allowed to continue in Oak Ridge as their attendance area elementary school.

Two critical notes: the change is effective for the 2014-2015 school year (not 2013-2014) and all families who have children started in Oak Ridge will be allowed to finish Oak Ridge as families.

If families are enrolling their first child in the 2013-2014 school year, and they live in the area that will be shifting from Oak Ridge or Upton to Addams, and they want to start their child at Addams, they will be given priority in doing so through the Elementary Transfer process.
